Account & sign-in

GrapeVest runs in two modes. Which one you pick depends on whether you use it on a single device or share the plan.

Local mode​

  • Data is kept in your browser (localStorage), with no login.
  • Works offline, with zero setup.
  • The data lives on one device/browser.

Cloud mode​

You sign in and your plan syncs through the cloud. Your data is end-to-end encrypted — only you (and an invited partner) can read it, not us. See Privacy & security.

How you sign in​

  • Password — cloud accounts use a password. The encryption key is derived from it on your device, so your data can be decrypted only by you.
  • Forgot your password? Your recovery code (shown once when you first sign in) restores access; you then set a new password.

Solo and Duo plans​

  • Solo — your private financial plan.
  • Duo — two people, one shared household: you both see the same plan, goals and progress. One person pays; both get access.

You invite a partner with a code or by email (see Onboarding and Settings).

Free trial​

A new account gets 30 days of full access to every feature. After the trial you need a subscription to keep going — your data stays untouched.

Deleting your account​

Settings has an option to permanently delete your account (confirmed with your password). It removes the data of any household where you're the only member, in line with GDPR.
